It has a large selection of stats and topics, including story starters and other useful info and links for those writing about current issues in the behavioral sciences.

Online Journals - Want to save a trip to the library? There are many journals which can be accessed online. Most sites provide at least the abstracts to articles, while some provide full-text or just ordering information. But if it's psychology related and on the internet, it's listed here. Participants Online- website which is attempting to link up researchers and prospective subjects for experiments that can be conducted online. 

Psychology With Style - an online guide to writing in APA style.

The Knowledge Base - An online research methodology textbook. Very thorough, covers all topics in research methodology in detail, including reliability and validity issues, research design, etc. A valuable resource.

Test Locator - ERIC's database of 11,000 test descriptions. Also use Thesaurus search engine for ERIC.

Statistical Software:

Amos - A structural equation modeling program. You can read up on what it does more specifically at the page, and you can download a free student version to sample it...

Ecstatic - A statistical software package that supposedly does all the tricks (ANOVA's w/ repeated measures, non-parametric equations, multiple regressions, etc). You can download a free, fully-working demo version, and it only takes up 2mb's on your hard drive. We'll give you a critique when we get the chance to look at it ourselves, but in the meantime, if you have comments about it, let us know, so Psychwatch can summarize for our readers...

Power Analysis - Being driven crazy with power analysis? Still having trouble deciphering Cohen? You may want to try GPower, a free, easily downloadable power analysis program. It allows calculations for effect sizes, n, different alphas, etc., for several different statistical tests, including t-tests, multiple regression, and ANOVA's. Worth a look.

SPSS - makers of SPSS-X and Systat, you can purchase these and other statistical programs online. You can also get free trial downloads of stat programs, including Systat 8.0.

Research Projects on the Internet:

The American Psychological Society provides a listing of links to various research experiments currently being conducted on the internet. Several allow you to participate, others provide information about methodology, etc.
